This release features a remastered recording—sourced from a decent audience tape—of Herbie Hancock’s headlining performance at the Newport Jazz Festival. While I described the source as "decent," the original recording was actually problematic; boomy low frequencies prevented the input levels from being raised effectively. Through remastering, however, the sound quality has been elevated to a truly "good" standard. With a setlist that perfectly captures the best of the "Electric Hancock" era, this is a must-listen.
