This is a live recording featuring the brilliant Israeli jazz pianist Shai Maestro—an artist who, while not yet widely known in Japan, certainly deserves your attention. The performance showcases a unique, unconventional quartet: in addition to Shai on piano, the group includes a second keyboardist, the young Tel Aviv-born musician Gadi Lehavi. Shai Maestro was originally discovered by bassist Avishai Cohen, who himself gained invaluable experience working with artists like Chick Corea—a testament to how the torch of jazz is passed from one generation to the next.
